Pettinain is located 32 miles from both Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres and is supported by a comprehensive network of road and rail links to the surrounding towns and villages. Carstairs Junction (3 miles north of Pettinain) is a main stop on the West Coast Main Line, with regular high speed connections to both Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley stations. In addition, Lanark is also supported by Scotrail services (via Hamilton) to Glasgow Central Station. A public bus service is available to both Lanark and Biggar.

From Glasgow, (32 miles / 43 minutes)

Follow the M8/A8 and exit at junction 6. follow A73 through to Newmains and continue through Lanark and Hyneford Bridge towards Carlisle. approx 1 mile South of Hyneford Bridge, Pettinain will be signposted to your left. you will find the Abbey Park development after approx 2 miles, before reaching the village of Pettinain.

Follow the M74 and exit at junction 12 (signposted for Edinburgh), continuing on A70 through Rigside. Approx 1 mile after the Hyneford Bridge turnoff, Pettinain will be signposted to your left. You will find the Abbey Park development after approx 2 miles, before reaching the village of Pettinain.

From Edinburgh, (32 miles / 47 minutes)
Follow City Bypass and exit to A70 following signs for Lanark. Continue to Carstairs via carnwath. 3 miles south of Carstairs you will find the village of Pettinain, see location maps for details.
